Project Description
Objective:
The Tending Reciprocity Day Festival was created to offer something that felt rare yet deeply needed: a truly family-friendly space that also spotlighted and celebrated local healers, teachers, organizers, and artists. Reflection
This event was a heartfelt, collaborative effort to build something welcoming, vibrant, and connective—a day where parents felt supported, children felt seen, and organizers and creatives had a platform to share their gifts.
I left the day with the strong feeling that this is what healing looks like when it’s community-rooted and accessible. I saw kids learning capoeira next to elders sipping herbal tea, and vendors dancing to live music while folks reflected on movement practices or workshops they just attended. We planted seeds of connection that I believe will grow for a long time.
This event showed me the value of intentional space-making, the necessity of teamwork, and the profound ripple effect one vision can have when others are invited in.
